Professional Diploma

 
 

The Professional Diploma in Law and Practice is a broad-based, practical introduction to Law and Legal Practice. It requires that students achieve across key areas of Law and Legal Practice.   Completion of the diploma takes 24 months.

To achieve this diploma participants are required to completed a total of 10 units.

This unit provides a core introduction to criminal law and all related legal aspects.

This unit provides a core introduction to law regarding property, mortgages and other related legal aspects.

Law of Tort

 

 

This unit provides a core introduction to the area of law relating to duty of care, negligence and causation.

This unit offers students the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency and understanding in key transferable skills, the focus of this unit is the ability to develop relationships with clients seeking legal assistance.

This unit builds on the foundations of the mandatory Criminal Law unit and addresses the key aspects of the criminal proceedings.

 

The Practice of Family Law

 

This unit builds on the foundations of the mandatory Family Law unit and addresses the key aspects of successful legal practice.

 

The Practice of Employment Law

 

This unit builds on the foundations of the mandatory Employment Law unit and addresses the key aspects of the cycle of an employment relationship.

 

Probate Practice

 

This unit builds on the foundations of its supporting mandatory law unit, Law of Wills and Succession and addresses the management of probate practice.

 

The Practice of Law for the Elderly Client

 

 

This unit builds on the foundations of its supporting mandatory law unit, Law of Wills and Succession and addresses advice or proceeding on behalf of the elderly client.
