Overview

This programme is intended for students wishing to pursue a baccalaureate degree in elementary, middle, senior-level education at a recognized teacher education institution.

This two-year degree programme features a common Liberal Arts core that spands the Humanities, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences disciplines. In the second year of the programme, the core courses are supplemented with courses in the foundations of education, in human growth and development, and in the application of psychological principles to the teaching profession. In addition through the twelve elective credits, students intending to teach at the senior level are able to complete a concentration in one of the disciplines noted above.

Career Opportunities

Educators primarily pursue careers in the public and private educational systems however the value of individuals with an understanding of communication skills and pedagogy are increasingly being utilized outside the school system in libraries, government, business and industry, non-profit and community based organizations. Careers with an education background include:
