Developed with the assistance of employers in this field, this competency-based, modularised programme usually takes two years to complete. Students will experience lectures, practical assignments and self-directed activities as they progress through the modules, working with an instructor and being evaluated on a skill by skill basis. Graduates will be able to sit the City and Guilds Scheme 6129 Examinations and also meet the Bermuda National Training Board, National Centre for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards for entering the plumbing trade.
Today’s society will always require new homes, schools, commercial establishments and office buildings. Successful plumbers are adaptable and learn how to deal with the ever evolving technology of today’s world. The inclusion of heat and motion sensors and new filtration systems into the plumbing trade creates challenges and excitement for today’s plumbing technicians.
Upon completion of this programme students will be qualified to work in several areas of the plumbing industry; sales, installations, or maintenance in hotels, hospitals, residential and commercial establishments.
